St. Petersburg, Florida -- On November 16 former Eph Women's Lacrosse and Field Hockey coach Chris Mason was one of three coaches inducted into the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Hall of Fame.
Mason won 303 games as the head coach at Williams College over the course of a 33-year career.
The Ephs posted undefeated seasons in 1990 and 1996, finished second in the NCAA DIII Championship in 1998 and 2000 and won a NESCAC title in 2010.
Under Mason Williams earned six NCAA Tournament bids and she coached 34 All-Americans, including one IWLCA Offensive Player of the Year (Alana Teutonico Brock '98) and one IWLCA Defensive Player of the Year (Alyse Clayman '96). Kasia Sullivan '96 was named College Sport Magazine DIII Female Athlete of the Year.
Mason also coached field hockey at Williams. The IWLCA Hall of Fame honor marks the second Hall of Fame honor as a coach having been previously named to the Western Massachusetts Hall of Fame.
In June of 2014 Mason and the members of the 1980 U.S. Field Hockey team that won the USA's first Olympic field hockey medal was inducted into the USA Field Hockey Hall of Fame and in 1989 inducted as an individual. The USA claimed the bronze medal in the Olympic Games held in Los Angeles.
