Boston, MA — A selection of Williams Women's Track and Field athletes competed at the MIT Gordon Kelly Invitational on Saturday, February 11th, 2023. Many New England Division III teams, such as Tufts University and Brandeis University, were present at the meet. Also on Saturday, the 4000 Distance Medley Relay  competed on Day 2 of the BU David Hemery Valentine Invite and had an outstanding performance. Overall, the Ephs completed a successful weekend at both meets, filled with personal records and DIII New England Qualifying marks.
To start off the Gordon Kelly Invitational, Emma Miller '26, Livi Mazerolle '26 and Hayden Colfax '25 competed in the shot put. Miller came in 5th, throwing a DIII New England qualifying mark of 11.49m. Mazerolle placed 15th and threw a personal record of 9.68m, and Colfax finished 17th with a throw of 9.20m. Miller competed later in the day in the weight throw. She threw a personal best of 13.02m and placed 7th.
In the 600m, Elsa Martin '25 crossed the finish line in a speedy personal best of 1:40.13. Martin placed 3rd and qualified for DIII New England's with her performance. Freshman Greta Vaughn also ran a great race and finished 9th with a personal record of 1:43.89. Katie Nath '23 placed 11th with a time of 1:45.37.
Ellie Fitzgerald '26 took third place overall in the pole vault with an impressive mark of 3.45m. In 6th place came Poppy Miller '25 with a mark of 3.30m. Both Ephs hit the DIII New England qualifying marks for the pole vault.Â
Morgan Nasir '25 led the Ephs in the long jump with an impressive performance. Her best mark of the day, 5.65m, is a new personal best and ranks 7th on the Williams All-Time list for this event. Captain Kristen Chou '23 took 2nd in the long jump with a strong jump of 5.50m. Both Nasir and Chou exceeded the DIII New England qualifying marks with their jumps. Also in the long jump were Gabi Rodriguez '26 and captain Hannah Brown '23. Rodriguez took 13th with a new personal best of 4.60m, followed close behind by Brown in 14th with a mark of 4.22m.
Three Ephs competed in the high jump. Freshman Amelie Jamanka placed 2nd in the event, jumping a personal record of 1.58m. She qualified for DIII New England's with this jump. Colfax also competed in the high jump and placed 6th with a mark of 1.53m. Senior captain Hannah Brown jumped 1.48m, putting her in 11th.

Molly Fitzgibbons competed in the 4000 Distance Medley Relay. They ran an impressive time of 11:45.04 and achieved an 11th-place finish ahead of many DI teams.Â
The Ephs faced high-level competition at BU and MIT this weekend and rose to the challenge. They are excited to continue building on their successes at the Springfield College meet on February 18th and the DIII New England Championship, spanning from February 24th to February 25th.
