LAKE PLACID, NY – The EISA collegiate circuit wrapped up the 2023 Carnival Circuit yesterday with the slalom portion of the Saint Lawrence Carnival NCAA Regionals weekend. It was an exciting day at Whiteface Mountain, New York, as many seniors on the circuit kicked out of the starting gate for the last time, wrapping up many careers spanning more than two decades.

On the men's side, after a strong first run skiing into 28th, sophomore Bennett Snyder led the Ephs, finishing in 25th on the day after second run. He was 5.16 seconds off the pace of the men's winner, Mathias Tefre of the University of Vermont. Snyder was followed by junior Scottie Bocock and senior Zach Dekko, finishing in 34th and 41st, respectively. First-year Cooper Iacobelli rounded out the men's finishers in 45th.

Senior Maddy Sullivan led the women's team in 33rd place, 8.11 seconds off the women's leader, Justine Clement of the University of Vermont. She was closely followed by first-year Riley McHugh, who finished in 34th, only 8 hundredths of a second behind Sullivan. Senior Isabel Grondin rounded out the women's scoring in 42nd.

The men's team placed 11th, while the women's team placed 10th on the day. Combined with the prior day's GS results and the Nordic team's results from Friday and Saturday, the Williams Ski Team placed 9th overall for the weekend at the Saint Lawrence Carnival NCAA Regionals series.

The Ephs sent off five seniors yesterday in their final collegiate race of their careers. Maddy Sullivan, Isabel Grondin, Claudia Cantin, Derick Peake, and Zach Dekko have all been valuable members of the team over the past four years, scoring numerous times for the Ephs, and they will be missed. The rest of the Alpine team wishes them the best in their future endeavors.

After seven weeks of collegiate racing, the Ephs are already ready for the non-collegiate spring races in order to prepare for next year's carnival season.
