WILLIAMS BEAT BROWN 7-2

WILLIAMSTOWN, MA --  Today the purple cows defended their home courts once again and defeated Brown 7-2. Eager to keep the momentum rolling from their winning streak, Williams started strong and quickly won the key matches. It also was Senior day for their esteemed Co-Captain Udai Pal, who showed great leadership and skill on court.

Starting off the first round for the Ephs was Andrew Lee, who used his dexterity and control of the ball to quickly finish off his opponent. Next up was Jack Lee, who had an impressive showing today. He had the quickest win of the day, winning his match 3-0 in 20 minutes flat. And last up for the Ephs was Andrew Minnis, who started off with a tight first game. Both players battled for the advantage past 10-10, but Andrew unfortunately lost 17-15. He managed to tighten up his shots for the second game, which he won 11-8, but then after a couple of slips in focus, he lost the match 3-1.

Starting off the second round for Williams was Rafay Syed, who started slow and dropped the first game. However, he rethought his tactics, and with a few excellent drop shops took the next three games. Charles Merrill started strong in his match, winning the first two handily. The third game went to a tiebreaker, which Charles managed to win out 15-13 to take the match. Next up was Asher Leavy, who played clinical squash to take down his opponent in three quick games.

And starting the third and final round for the purple cows was Gabriel Ramirez, who faced a talented opponent, and even though he had some excellent shots and retrievals, he lost in 3 games. Next up was Alex Akbari, who used his length game to control the court and win in three games. And last on court for the Ephs was Co-Captain Udai Pal, who showed what it means to play number 1 at Williams, using every shot in his arsenal to give the crowd a game to enjoy and 3-0 win for Williams.

It was a good day at the Simon Squash center for the Ephs, but their eyes look ahead to tomorrow when they play #10 in the country Dartmouth.
