Boston, MA – The Williams Women's Track and Field team competed at the NEICAAA Outdoor Championships held at Northeastern University on Friday and Saturday. The meet featured high-level competition from NCAA Division I, II, and III schools, including Amherst College, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, College of the Holy Cross, and the University of Maine. Ephs had strong performances in the heptathlon, jumps, sprints, pole vault, and long-distance events.
Captain Kiara Tan '23 and Camryn Taylor '24 represented the Ephs in the sprint events. On Friday, Tan won her heat of the 100m prelims with a time of 12.21 and automatically qualified for finals. She went on to place third overall in finals on Saturday, finishing in 12.04 seconds. Camryn Taylor '24 competed in the 400m hurdles prelims on Friday, placing 7th with a time of 1:03.41.
Ephs performed well in mid-distance and distance events, too. In the 1500m, Molly Fitzgibbons '24 placed 3rd with an impressive time of 4:32.20. This time is a new personal best for Fitzgibbons and the Williams All-Time #9 mark in this event. Lucy Gagnon '24 also competed in the 1500m, placing 28th with a time of 4:56.96. Ella Ball '25 represented the Ephs in the 5000m, placing 9th overall with a time of 17:53.97.
On Friday and Saturday, Livi Mazerolle '26 competed in her second-ever collegiate heptathlon. Mazerolle performed incredibly well, securing 7th place after all seven events were scored. She had particularly strong performances in the 800m, the high jump, and the shot put. Mazerolle placed 4th in the heptathlon 800m race with a personal best time of 2:34.75. She then went on to place 2nd in the heptathlon high jump with another personal best of 1.64m. In the shotput, Mazerolle placed 5th with a mark of 10.72m.
The vaulters and jumpers also had a successful weekend of competition. In the pole vault, Ellie Fitzgerald '26 and Jae Yu '25 represented the Ephs. Fitzgerald hit a mark of 3.60m for 12th place, and Yu vaulted 3.30m for 18th place. In the long jump, Morgan Nasir '25 jumped an impressive 5.70m for 4th place.
Even though the season has come to an end for many of the Ephs, some others are excited to compete in the Williams Final Qualifier this Wednesday, May 16th, to attempt to secure qualifying marks for the Division III National Championships, which will be held from May 25th to May 27th at the Polisseni Track and Field Complex in Rochester, NY.
