WILLIAMSTOWN, MASS. -- USRowing recently
announced the Para Rowing Team for the 2023 World Championships, September 3-10, in Belgrade, Serbia.
Ben Washburne '23, was selected as a member of the PR3 mixed four with coxswain.
Washburne's crew, which was selected at the PR3 Selection Camp in West Windsor, NJ, includes Saige Harper (Sacred Heart University), Alex Flynn (Tufts University), Emilie Eldracher (MIT) and Skylar Dahal (University of Virginia).
"This year's squad is a strong combination of experienced veterans and very promising newcomers," said Para High Performance Director Ellen Minzner. "I am excited to see how they will evolve over the next couple of months and through next year in the lead-up to the Paralympic Games."
Washburne was a 4-year standout athlete for Williams and this past season he helped lead the Eph Second-Varsity-Eight to a commanding IRA Championship
victory.

The 2023 World Rowing Championships will be held Sept. 3-10 in Belgrade and are the first opportunity for countries to qualify boats for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
