Norfolk, VA - Fourteen members of the Men's Swimming and Diving Team have been named to the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America team. To be named to the First-Team Scholar All-America, student-athletes must achieve a minimum GPA of 3.5 and participate at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championship. Second-Team selections earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher and met the NCAA DIII "B" time standard or participated in a diving zone qualification meet.

Academically, the Williams Men's Swimming and Diving Team is ranked 9
th in NCAA Division III with an average GPA of 3.71. The Ephs had an incredible season, winning both the Little Three Championship and the NESCAC Championship. The Ephmen closed off their 2022-23 season at the NCAA Division III Championships, tying with MIT for 5
th place.
Head Coach Steven Kuster congratulated the honored athletes and remarked that "having 27 Scholar All-Americans is a great testament to those individuals, our team and the outstanding student-athletes that make up the team as a whole. Williams is a place where you can be a fantastic student and a high performing athlete and this certainly is evidence of that."

Carter Anderson
Carter Anderson '25 is physics major and astrophysics concentration. The distance freestyler has competed in two NCAA championships, placing 13
th both years in the 1650 freestyle. He was also the 2023 NESCAC champion in the 1000- and 1650-yard freestyle races.

Alex Atherton
Alex Atherton '24 is an economics and computer science double major.
Alex Atherton earned All-American honors at the 2023 NCAA championship for his 8
th place finish in the 500-yard freestyle. In his 2 years of competing for the Ephs, Atherton has racked up five top-3 finishes at the NESCAC championships and has been a major contributor in the freestyle relays.

Jacob Grover
Jacob Grover '24 is an economics major and a captain of the swimming and diving team for the 2023-24 season. Grover is a 6-time NESCAC champion and an 8-time All-American who specializes in breaststroke and IM events. In 2020, Grover won the NESCAC Swimmer of the Year and Rookie of the Year awards.
Jacob Grover holds NESCAC records in the 100- and 200- yard breaststroke events, and a Williams college record in the 50-yard breaststroke as he heads into his final season.

Zeb Hart
Zeb Hart '23 is a sociology major who graduated from Williams in June of 2023. As a specialist in sprint freestyle, butterfly, and backstroke, he racked up four top-3 finishes at the NESCAC championships over his career. Hart was also a significant component of Williams relays at the NCAA championship. In 2023, he received the Nate Krissoff award, which is awarded to the teammate who best exemplifies Nate Krissoff in their leadership, kindness, and love for the team.

Zach Houlton (2nd team)
Zach Houlton '24 is a music major. Zach specializes in distance freestyle, swimming the 500-, 1000-, and 1650- yard freestyle races. In his two seasons of racing at Williams, Houlton has racked up four top-8 NESCAC finishes including a 2022 NESCAC title in the 1000-yard freestyle.

Ev Nichol
Ev Nichol '24 is a biology major and specializes in sprint freestyle, backstroke, and butterfly events. The sprinter has accumulated six top-3 finishes at the NESCAC championships, including a NESCAC title in the 50-yard butterfly in 2022. Nichol also broke the 20-second mark in the 50-yard freestyle in 2023 with a 19.90, and finished 12
th in the 100-yard backstroke at NCAAs this year.

Timmy Page (2nd Team)
Timmy Page graduated in 2023 and was a captain of the 2022-23 team. Page is a biology major on the pre-medicine track. The backstroker has had four top-8 finishes at the NESCAC Championships. Page placed 4
th at the 2023 NESCAC Championship in the 200-yard backstroke, and 5
th in the 50-yard backstroke.

Oliver Schalet
Oliver Schalet '25 is a chemistry major, IMer, and freestyler. As a sophomore, he earned two individual All-American honors, placing 4
th at NCAAs in the 200 IM and 7
th in the 200-yard freestyle. Oliver is also a NESCAC record-holder in the 200 IM, a three-time NESCAC champion, and the 2023 recipient of the Paul B. Richardson Swimming Trophy, which is awarded to the male swimmer or diver who wins the greatest number of points in the dual meet season.

Liam Sullivan
Liam Sullivan is a philosophy major who graduated in 2023. The breaststroker has had seven top-5 NESCAC finishes and two individual NESCAC titles. This season, Sullivan placed 3
rd in the 50-yard breaststroke and 4
th in the 100-yard breaststroke at NESCACs. The senior closed off his swimming career with a 20
th place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke at the NCAA Championships.

Kobe Tray
Kobe Tray, a 2023 graduate and 2022-23 team captain, is a biology major on the pre-medicine track. The diver has won 4 NESCAC titles in his time as an Eph and obtained the NESCAC meet record in the 3-meter in 2023. Over his diving career, Kobe earned two NESCAC Diver of the Year awards, became a 4-time All-American, and placed 3
rd in the NCAA for the 1-meter in 2023. Tray also was awarded the Robert B. Muir Award for the Men's Swimming and Diving Team in 2023, which is presented to a member of the team who has displayed outstanding performance, leadership, and sportsmanship qualities.

Nathaniel Tunggal (2nd Team)
Nathaniel Tunggal '25 is pursuing a double major in computer science and Chinese. The rising junior specializes in IM and butterfly events. Tunggal has had six top-8 finishes at the NESCAC championships, placing 6
th in both the 200 fly and the 400 IM in 2023.

Charlie Venci
Charlie Venci '25 is pursuing a double major in economics and computer science. The rising junior specializes in backstroke and IM events, and has accumulated four top-5 NESCAC finishes, including a 2022 NESCAC title in the 100-yard backstroke. Venci placed 26
th in the 200-yard backstroke at the 2023 NCAA Division III Championships and has been a significant component of Williams medley relays.

Nicholas Whitcomb
Nick Whitcomb graduated in 2023 as a chemistry major on the pre-medicine track. Over his career as an Eph, the backstroke specialist racked up eight top-3 NESCAC finishes and two NESCAC titles. Whitcomb was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa and awarded the Willard E. Hoyt Jr. Award in 2023, which is presented to a senior male athlete who displays both outstanding athletic performances and impressive academic achievements. In 2023, Nick also won the NESCAC High-Point Award, which is awarded to a senior who has scored the most points at the NESCAC Championships in his career.

Harrison Williams
Harrison Williams '26 is a rising sophomore pursuing a double major in economics and statistics. At his first NESCAC Championship, Harrison placed 4
th in the 200-yard freestyle and 7
th in the 200 IM. The first-year also played a big role in the Williams freestyle relays. Harrison was also the 2023 recipient of the Francis E. Bowker Jr. Swimming Award, which is presented to the first-year student of the team who exhibited high qualities of performance, leadership, and sportsmanship.
