Game Recap

Today, it was sophomore forward Jaelyn Keiver who opened the scoring for the Ephs late into the first period and the home side did not look back, scoring 6 more goals after Keiver's opener (16:37).

The game began with the Ephs dominating offensively, but the Trailblazers received a power play opportunity early in the first half of the period. The Ephs penalty kill unit looked sharp, holding the Trailblazers scoreless for the two minute duration (11:30). In a similar fashion, the Trailblazers snuffed the Ephs' first power play opportunity of the evening. Then, not even a minute after Keiver's first goal, the Ephs doubled their lead when Lucie Bond snapped a shot into the back of the net after Katherine Kang's shot was blocked, putting them up 2-0 (17:16). The goals kept on rolling in for the Ephs as the period came to an end; Christina Halloran scored her first goal of the night (18:10).

The second period started with more of the same for the Ephs; off a power play, Leah Rubinshteyn scored, bringing the lead up to 4-0 for the home side (4:55). The Trailblazers' defense held strong for the rest of the period, and the score remained 4-0 entering the 3rd period.

After a barrage of shots, Keiver got one to go in for the Ephs, bringing the lead to 5-0 (3:39). Lucie Bond quickly followed, bringing the lead now up to 6-0 (6:19). The Ephs once again dominated shot attempts during the period, but the Trailblazers defense stepped up, holding the Ephs from scoring for another 15 minutes. Claire Murphy scored the final goal of the night for the Ephs, capping off the 7-0 victory (18:23).

Next for the Ephs, they will face Colby College on the road Friday night at 7 PM.
