Manchester, VT – The Williams Men's golf team finished in second place at the annual Sap Bucket Matches between Williams, Middlebury, Hamilton, and Trinity hosted at Ekwanok CC.
On a classic New England October day that featured rain, beautiful sunshine, and blistering wind, sophomore
Alex Moller capped off his outstanding fall season with the low round for the Ephs, coming in at 1-over par 71. Moller finished T2 in the individual standings. Junior and fellow New York City native
Will Rich finished one shot behind Moller at 2-over par 72. Rich's ball striking was on point all day long in the harsh windy conditions.
Sophomore
Owen Nielsen followed behind coming in at 5-over par 75. Senior
Phillip Clifton ended the round at 8-over par 80 while Senior
Ben Sapovits and first-year
Hunter Justice rounded out the scoring at 9-over par 79.
Senior
Ben Sapovits commented on the spirit of the event: "The Sap Bucket is one of the best events of the year, it's always great getting to connect with other NESCAC guys and we couldn't be more thankful to the Ekwanok members for having us out there every year."

Josh Hillman commented on the finishing of the fall season: "It's great to end the fall with the Sap Bucket where we always have fun no matter what. The course is so beautiful and challenging and it always making for a fun, competitive day. I'm really proud of the work these guys have put in this fall, we really started to make some strides toward the end of the season. We'll be ready to hit the ground running when the spring season comes along. We're very excited to host the conference championship at Taconic this year, it will be a great weekend."
The Ephs will be back in action in spring 2025.
