- Early into the third period, after Spiers won a face off for the Mustangs in their own offensive zone, Eason took the puck herself from the boards, firing a shot from the circle that beat Pye to tie the game at 2-2 (5:42).
- Late in the period, the Ephs had an opportunity to win the game on the power play. However, the Mustangs' penalty kill unit excelled and the Ephs were unable to capitalize (16:50).

Murphy, one-on-one with the Mustangs' Sydney Canham, snapped a wrist shot bottom left, scoring to secure the Ephs' fifth consecutive win.
After the win, Head Coach of the Ephs, Meghan Gillis stated, "Just really proud of our team and the way we finished out the 2024 portion of our season and excited to see what we can bring in 2025. Erin was key keeping us in the game in critical games and I thought Claire Murphy stepped up in both regulation and obviously in OT to get us the win."
