NESCAC Release
HADLEY, Mass. - After recording a combined 74 saves, two wins, one shutout, a .974 save percentage and a 0.99 goals-against average during a 3-0 week for the Ephs, junior goaltender
Erin Pye of the Williams College women's ice hockey team earned NESCAC Player of the Week accolades Monday from the conference office.Â

This is the second time Pye has received this honor in her collegiate career, as she took home the award on Dec. 12, 2022. The Ephs (5-2, 0-2 NESCAC) are on a five-game winning streak, defeating Castleton, 4-0, No. 14 Norwich, 2-0, and SUNY Morrisville, 3-2, in overtime this past week.
"It is great to see Erin recognized as Player of the Week," said 14th-year head coach
Meghan Gillis. "Her shutout performance against a ranked opponent in Norwich on Saturday was impressive and she made key saves down the stretch against Morrisville. Her compete level and attention to detail each day gets better and are things I am constantly impressed with and admire."
During the win at Norwich Saturday afternoon, Pye made 37 saves and earned the shutout. The Third Lake, Illinois, native made another 37 saves in a thrilling 3-2 overtime win at Moorisville Sunday afternoon.
"I am honored to have been recognized as NESCAC Player of the Week, but this achievement is also a reflection of our team's hard work thus far," said Pye. "My teammates have been working diligently to provide support on the offensive end by putting up points. I am pleased that I can provide that same support in the net for them. It has been fun being back in the net for yet another season of college hockey and I am thrilled that the hard work I have been putting in lately is paying off. I hope to continue not just my personal growth as a goaltender, but the team's upward trajectory as we return in 2025 for the remainder of the season."
Pye has compiled a remarkable career up to this point at Williams, as she broke the program's single-season saves record with 770 in 2023-24. She has 1,503 career saves, which ranks fourth in the team's record book.
The standout student-athlete has compiled 40 or more saves 15 times and 50 or more four times in her collegiate career. During 20-of-42 starts, Pye has limited the opponent to one or fewer goals.
