Williamstown, MA- The men's tennis team came back on Sunday after a grueling Saturday match and found their form again in a 9-0 win over Bates. All three doubles pairings came to play, and the Ephs found themselves up 3-0 quickly. Singles was more of the same, with everyone winning in straight sets. Captain
Shawn Berdia looked especially poised, as he dispatched his opponent 6-1, 6-0 in only 47 minutes. Williams grew with confidence as each member of the team won their first set, and then match, culminating in a
Kush Anand around the net post passing shot winner that threw the already raucous crowd into an absolute frenzy. Captain
Andrew Chong commented on the match, "It was awesome to see us come off a solid win against Tufts and prove that our level of tennis is here to stay. I am looking forward to taking our talents to SB (spring break)". Head coach
Dan Greenberg also chimed in, saying "This was a great opening weekend for our team. Tennis aside, we showed that mentally we have strong roots, and our team culture is in a good spot. Everyone contributed, and I can't wait to see
Andrew Chong come back from his injury to help catalyze our development even further". The Ephs play next in southern California, where they will play six matches on their annual spring break trip.
