Ephs Win the Nightcap to Earn Split at La Verne

Scores:
University of La Verne 6, Williams 3

Location: La Verne, CA

The Short Story: Katie Blanch '27 earned her first collegiate win in game two and Emily Borrazzo '27 was a hard luck loser in the opener. Borrazzo went the distance, giving up only two earned runs, but the defense didn't help her out and the Ephs fell short despite racking up ten hits.  Williams out hit the Leopards in both games but made five errors in the double header.  Despite the less than stellar play in the field there were many bright spots as eight players had multiple hit days, led by Sydney Fleming with four hits.

Coach's Take: "We battled all afternoon but could not string together good play on both sides of the ball.  The season is young and we will continue to get better, and some of the 'little things' should be fixed immediately, especially the base running, and I expect that the players feel the same way.  I look forward to tomorrow."- Head Coach Kris Herman
