Scores:
Williams 2, Chapman 3
Williams 6, Chapman 1
Location: Orange, CA
Records: Williams 6-5; Pomona 9-7
The Short Story: A Williams comeback was short lived in game one as the two runs they scored in the top of the sixth inning were matched by the Panthers in the bottom of that inning. The Eph bats couldn't solve Chapman's pitcher as Williams managed only three hits in game one. Game two was a different story as the Ephs had twelve hits, including a monster shot by
Emily Borrazzo '27 that clipped the top of the El Camino Real Park's 30' high left field foul pole. Borrazzo also pitched the full six innings for the Ephs in game one, and classmate
Katie Blanch '27 went the distance on the mound for the win in game two.
Coach's Take: "The frosh had a great day today. In addition to the two complete game pitching outings, Emily's first collegiate home run was very exciting,
Justine Dunaway '27 made a highlight reel diving catch in the outfield and hit the ball hard as well. The team has great leaders in many key positions on the field and today
Vicky Trujillo Balderas '25 and
Sydney Fleming '25 had especially good days on defense. We have seventeen players contributing to our success each day and today was a good example of that. I'm excited to get home and build on the work we've done here." Head Coach
Kris Herman
