WILLIAMSTOWN, MASS. – After serving one year as the interim head coach of Eph Men's and Women's squash
Hesham Aly has been elevated to full-time status.
Interim Athletic Director Carolyn Miles stated, "After a national search, I am pleased to announce that
Hesham Aly has accepted the offer to be the next men's and women's head squash coach and assistant professor of physical education.
The committee was impressed with his experience in coaching squash that came through in the interview process as well as his work with the team during this interim year. We are excited to see Hesham continue his work with the team in the coming years." Prior to coming to Williams Aly served as an assistant coach at Princeton.
"I want to thank the search committee, Alix Barrale, Scott Honecker and Scott Lewis for their time and assistance in this search process. Hesham will officially transition to the permanent role on July 1," added Miles.
"I am honored to have been offered the head coach position at Williams, and extremely excited for this opportunity," said Aly. "I want to thank Carolyn Miles, Lisa Melendy and the entire hiring committee for entrusting me with the future of this amazing program. I am thrilled to continue working with assistant coaches

Aly's men's team last year won the Little Three title. He will have two First Team All-NESCAC honorees in
Will Evans and
Nick Agger returning to build his 2024-25 lineup around. Agger was named the NESCAC Rookie of the Year and is the first Eph to be so honored. The Ephs advanced to the 2024 NESCAC Semifinals and finished 14
th nationally.
Hesham's women's team posted a record of 11-11 in 2023-24 and also won the Little Three title. The Ephs lost in the Kurtz Cup Finals and finished the year ranked 14th nationally.The team was led by three first years all of whom earned All-NESCAC honors.
Melanie Wang was named to the NESCAC First Team and also the Rookie of the Year in the conference, while Sophie Keller and Rachel Martin earned Second Team laurels.
