Annapolis, MD — The Williams Men's Squash Team finished their road trip in Annapolis, Maryland to take on the #16 ranked U.S. Naval Academy. The team won handily, winning 7-2 as the Ephs closed out their trip 3-0. Eph head coach
Hesham Aly said "Very proud of how everyone pushed today, it's been a very long weekend. It's our longest bus trip of the season and everyone did their best to recover and keep their body's fueled."
Co-Captain Andrew Minnis started off the first round of matches on the five court system for the Ephs. He fought hard but his opponent beat him in three. First-year Ty Green dispatched his opponent 3-0. Fellow first year, Himanshu Pannu ended the weekend strong also winning in three. Will Newton won the first two games handily, dropped the third, and then recovered to win 3-1.
Next on court was Alex Akbari who had a slow start and his opponent hit some good shots, resulting in him losing the first two games. However he persevered despite an hour and forty minute match the day before, winning the next three games. Nick Agger was battling some beat up legs and lost in four games.
Junior Rafay Syed lost the first game dealing with some nerves, but recovered well to win 3-1. Co-captain Jack Lee used his deception in the front and his tight forehand rails to win in a tight three games.
Last on court for the team was Senior Pierce Henderson who used his hands to beat his opponent in four games.
The Ephs look to relax on their long bus ride back up to Williamstown.
