WILLIAMSTOWN, MA -- The Williams Men's Squash Team took on on the #17 ranked Middlebury Panthers. The team defended their home courts in The Simon Squash Center, winning 9-0. Eph head coach

Sophomore Nick Agger started off the first round of matches on the three court system for the Ephs. Agger used his drops and deception from the front to win decisively, 3-0. Himanshu Pannu started well and won the first two games. A lack of focus cost him the third, but he was able to regroup in the fourth to win the match. Rafay Syed dominated early and never let up, beating his opponent in three games.
Next on court for the Ephs was co-captain Andrew Minnis who used his physicality to beat his opponent 3-0. Playing in the #8 spot, first-year Ty Green had a tight back and forth match, but was able to find a way to win when it mattered most, winning 12-10 in the fifth game. Junior Alex Akbari, dropped the third game but found his drop and forehand length again to win in four games.
Finishing it off for the Ephs was first year Will Newton, who played a very similar opponent and won in four games. Co-captain Jack Lee got the job done in four. Playing in the #5 spot was Asher Leavy who mounted an incredible comeback, down 2-1, 9-2 in the fourth game, and won nine straight points to win the fourth. He came out strong in the fifth game and never looked back, winning 11-5.
The Ephs look to put in a a couple good days of training before the biggest match yet of the year against #11 ranked Tufts at The Simon Squash Center this Sunday at noon.
