NORTHAMPTON, MA – The Williams College women's basketball team fell on the road Wednesday night, dropping a 67-48 decision to Smith College. The Ephs now stand at 4-3 on the season.
Smith jumped out quickly, building a 43-26 halftime lead. Williams held the Pioneers to 24 points in the second half, but were unable to overcome the early deficit.
Micah Walton led the Ephs with 16 points on 6-of-15 shooting while adding seven rebounds and a steal.
Logan Coster joined her in double figures, finishing with 11 points and three boards.
Amaya Chase-Luthra chipped in six points, and eight different Ephs entered the scoring column.
Williams shot 34.5% from the floor but struggled from beyond the arc, finishing 2-of-17 from three. The Ephs did win the second-chance points battle and forced 15 turnovers, but were unable to generate enough offense to rally back.
The Ephs return home on Friday, December 6, to host Wellesley College at 6 p.m. in the Shooting Touch Tournament.
