NEW ORLEANS, LA- The Women's All-Academic Teams and Athletes for the 2024 NCAA Division III Cross Country season were announced on Thursday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
The Williams College Women's Cross Country team received All-Academic distinction, and all seven Ephs who represented Williams at the national championship meet in November earned individual All-Academic honors. In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.1 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period, among other qualifiers. The Ephs went above and beyond this, with a cumulative GPA of 3.72.
To individually qualify for All-Academic distinction, student athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-25 percent of their respective regional championship meet. Tamar Byl-Brann '27, Nora Johnson '25, Jordan Liss-Riordan '27, Charlene Peng '26, Kate Swann '26, Kate Tuttle '28, and Lily Yampolsky '28 all earned this accolade.Â
These honors follow a record breaking cross country season for the Ephs. At the NESCAC Championship, Williams finished in first place, with Kate Tuttle '28 finishing in fourth. The Ephs went on to win the NCAA DIII Mid-East Regional Championship, punching their ticket to National Championships. Tuttle led the team again with a fourth place finish. At the NCAA DIII National Cross Country Championships, the team claimed third place, the first podium finish for the Ephs since 2019. Tuttle secured an 8th place finish and All-American status. Her teammates, Tamar Byl-Brann and Kate Swann also both became All-Americans.
