Game Recap
- The Ephs found success early into the contest, with first year forward Skyler Moore scoring on the Ephs' second shot attempt of the afternoon (1:33).
- The Ephs built on the momentum that Moore initiated. After earning a power play opportunity due to a hooking penalty against the Continentals, senior captain Quinn Dawson sent one into the back of the net to grow the lead to 2-0 (11:29).
- Soon after Dawson's goal the Continentals received their own power play chance—however, the Ephs' penalty kill unit was exceptional and stuffed out the Continentals chance (12:54).
- Mere seconds after the Continentals' power play ended, the Ephs found themselves once again on the power play. Despite a hectic two minutes spent in their offensive zone, the Ephs were unable to take the 3-0 lead they desired (15:08).
- The first period was power play pandemonium, with the Continentals getting their second power play chance 30 seconds after Williams' own expired. The Ephs' penalty kill unit was unfettered with the man-down disadvavage and maintained their squad's lead (17:38).
- The second period saw the Ephs score again on the power play. The duo of junior forwards Jaelyn Keiver and Lucie Bond displayed exemplary chemistry—after Keiver's shot was turned away by the Continentals' goaltender, Bond swooped in and buried the puck to take a commanding 3-0 lead over the home side (10:44)
- The Continentals couldn't manage a response until midway through the third period, scoring their first power play goal, while having another extra attacker on the ice (12:35).
- Minutes later, the Continentals scored again, and a comeback seemed to be approaching (16:11).
- With around 90 seconds left in the period, the Continentals pulled their goaltender in a last ditch comeback effort, but the Ephs held on to secure the win.
Following the game, Eph head coach Meghan Gillis said, "The team played super connected and bought into the game plan. The synergy among the group was at the highest it's been in years. I am excited to keep building on this heading into a huge weekend at home against Connecticut College."
The Ephs will face the Connecticut College Camels at home this Friday, with puck drop scheduled for 7 PM.
