- The first period was slow offensively for the Ephs, as the Polar Bears dominated in the shots department and possession. Going on the power play with about seven minutes remaining in the first period, their man-up advantage was fruitless, as the Polar Bears' goaltender made some solid saves between the pipes (14:59).
- The Ephs sent the Polar Bears on the power play early into the second period, and the home side wasted no time capitalizing, scoring eight seconds into the power play to take a 1-0 lead (3:31).
- Despite two power play chances later in the period, the Ephs continued to struggle offensively and were unable to tie the game heading into the third period.
- The Ephs opened the third period strongly, earning themselves another power play in a game headlined by physicality. The away side was able to earn great looks, but the game remained 1-0 at the end of the two minute frame (4:46).
- Late in the game with the Ephs desperate for the game-tying score, Eph head coach Meghan Gillis decided to pull goaltender Erin Pye to bolster the offense, whilst already being on the power play. An unfortunate turnover for the Ephs in their own defensive zone led to an open, short handed empty netter for the Polar Bears to cap off their regular season with a 2-0 win (18:36).
Coach Gillis stated after the contest, "I think we learned some things about ourselves this weekend heading into playoffs and what we need to do to play at our best."
