Ephs Defeat Middlebury 6-3 to Finish in 3rd Place in CSA Team Nationals

PHILADELPHIA, PA – Today the Ephs faced off against Middlebury in the final match of the season. Ultimately, the Ephs triumphed 6-3 to gain 3rd place in the CSA team championships, with all three seniors winning the final matches of their college careers.

First on court, senior and captain Nora Brant played sporadic squash, keeping the crowd on their toes as she battled her Panther opponent. Heading into the fifth game, Brant was determined to close out her college career on a win and ultimately closed out the match on a high note, with smart squash and determination. At the same time, Sophia Koehler fell in four games, while Rachel Miller defaulted her match.

Next on court were Christina Yen, Naomi Jefferson-Sambanis, and Melanie Wang. Yen and Jefferson-Sambanis both executed accurate shots to defeat their opponents in three games. Wang went back and forth in a close match with her opponent, but was ultimately downed in five games.

In the last round of matches, Rhea Pandit beat her opponent in a decisive three games. Meanwhile, seniors and captains Amanda Solecki and Theresa Kay stepped on court to play the final matches of their college career and finish the team's season on a high note. Both seniors rose to the challenge and defeated their opponents in decisive three games through smart shot selection and determination.

In an exciting outcome, the Ephs defeated Middlebury 6-3 to round out the season and place third at CSA nationals. After the match, Eph head coach Hesham Aly commented, "I'm glad we were able to end the season on a high note today with this win. I'm happy with how the team played, and especially proud of our three seniors who have been exceptional leaders and contributors to the team throughout their college careers".

The Williams Women's Squash Team has officially ended their season with a ranking of 15th in the nation.
