The Short Story:
The Ephs battled with the Chapman University Panthers in a Wednesday morning doubleheader in Orange, CA and came away with a split of the two games. Williams battled from behind in the first game, scoring two in the top of the 8th to seal the win. Chapman answered in the nightcap, shutting out the Ephs 3-0. The Panthers took advantage of some defensive mistakes by the Purple, and Jillian Kelley shut the Ephs bats down, allowing just two hits. The pitching was strong for both teams all day. Sadie Leonard '26 remains undefeated at 5-0.
Coach's Take:
"Today was not a great day for the Ephs in terms of results. We made some mistakes in the field that don't show up in the box score but certainly did hurt us on the scoreboard. Both yesterday and today our defense was suspect at times and today we were not able to make up for it with timely hitting. Our entire team is working hard and we are excited for the second half of our trip," said Eph head coach Kris Hermam
