WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – After eight seasons leading the Williams College women's lacrosse program, head coach
Alice Lee has been named the next Director of Athletics at the Westridge School for Girls in Pasadena, California. She will officially assume her new role on July 1.
Since arriving in 2018, Lee has guided the Ephs through a period of transformation, rebuilding the program within the highly competitive NESCAC and raising its national profile. Under her leadership, Williams consistently ranked in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Top 25 in the last few seasons, reaching as high as No. 10 in 2024. Throughout her tenure, several Ephs earned prestigious honors, including NESCAC Player of the Week, IWLCA Player of the Week, All-NESCAC, All-Region and All-American accolades.
"I came to Williams because I believed in both the legacy of the program and what it could become," said Lee. "I have always been fueled by competition and purpose, and the opportunity to lead a group of smart, tough and passionate student-athletes back onto the national stage was incredibly meaningful to me."
Following early signs of progress, 2023 marked a breakthrough season. The Ephs posted a 10-6 record and finished 5-5 in conference play, matching the program's second-best NESCAC record in nearly two decades. That same year, the team earned landmark wins over No. 7 Colby and No. 15 Bowdoin, vaulting into the national rankings.
The 2025 team currently sits at No. 23 after collecting key wins over No. 11 Pomona-Pitzer and No. 15 Trinity, and narrowly falling in a nail-biter contest with No. 2 Tufts.
"Coaching for the past 16 years, and especially rebuilding this program at Williams, has been one of the greatest honors of my life," said Lee. "Working alongside these student-athletes as we aimed for something greater than ourselves has made this decision incredibly difficult. After careful reflection, the opportunity at Westridge is one I could not pass up, as it represents a meaningful next chapter that aligns with my personal and professional values and long-term goals.
I am deeply grateful to
Lisa Melendy and the entire Williams community, and proud to be part of the incredible lineage of women who have led Williams lacrosse over the past 50-plus years. I am confident that the thoughtful planning underway will ensure future Ephs are supported and that the program's legacy continues to thrive for years to come."
Lee remains committed to closing out the 2025 season with the same passion that has defined her tenure. "My focus remains fully on this team and this season, and I am excited to keep chasing what is possible with this incredible group of women."

"It is always hard to say goodbye to a valued member of our athletic family, and while we are sad to see Alice go, we are excited for her next chapter. Her coaching and leadership has brought the team to where it is today. She led with integrity, compassion and a deep belief in the power of team.
Beyond the lacrosse program, Alice made lasting contributions across campus, fostering collaboration, mentoring students and helping strengthen our community.
