Ephs Finish Second at Little Three Championships

Middletown, CT — The Williams men's golf team came in second place today at the Little Three Championship hosted by Wesleyan University at Lyman Orchards Golf Club.

The Ephs split points with Wesleyan in the alternate shot portion of the day, winning two matches out of four. Sophomore Alex Moller and first-year Jack Estrella closed out the cardinals on the 17th hole while the pairing of senior Peter Dohr and sophomore Owen Nielsen ended their match on hole 16.

Moller and Estrella picked up the lone point in the alternate shot matches against Amherst.

In the singles portion of the day, the Ephs won all but won match versus Wesleyan to secure second place, but dropped 6 of 8 matches to Amherst.

Moller and Estrella were on today for the Ephs as they each secured points against both Amherst and Wesleyan in their singles matches.

Eph head coach Josh Hillman commented on the event today: "Little Threes is always a great event, it's fun to mix some match play into our schedule every year. We didn't get the result we wanted today but everyone fought until every match was over, and that's all you can really ask for. It's a quick turnaround to our conference championships this weekend and we're excited to lock in for that the rest of this week. It's always great to host NESCACs at Taconic."

The Ephs are back in action on Friday for the first of three rounds of the NESCAC Championship hosted at Taconic Golf Club.
