Williamstown, MA – The Williams men's golf team remains in fourth placethe second day of competition at the NESCAC Championship hosted by the Ephs at Taconic Golf Club.
Rain was falling all day long at Taconic making it a difficult trip around the 18 holes for all players.
Eph first year
Hunter Justice led the way for Williams today, finishing an impressive 2-over par 73 in the rainy conditions. Justice birdied his first two holes of the day en route to an even par front nine and 2-over par finish. His round today puts him at T11 in the individual standings.
Sophomore
Alex Moller came in next for the Ephs, following up his 1-over par round yesterday with a 4-over par 75 today. Moller sits T8 in the individual standings after two days.
First-year
Jack Estrella posted a round of 6-over par 77 in the wet conditions. After shooting 5-over on the front nine, Estrella bounced back and made par on 8 out of 9 holes on the back.
Rounding out the scoring for the Ephs was sophomore
Owen Nielsen with a 10-over par 81.
Eph head coach
Josh Hillman commented on the round today: "Today was a tough day. We failed to do the simple things well when the weather hit. It was a small collection of holes that hurt us but I'm proud of how they bounced back and finished strong. We are still playing well and we will come out ready to go tomorrow."
The Ephs sit 16 shots back of the lead going into the final day of competition tomorrow.
Tee Times begin at 10:40am for the Ephs tomorrow.
