The Short Story:
The Ephs battled through a pitchers' duel in their second game of the NCAA Division III Softball Tournament, ultimately falling 1–0 to host Moravian. Despite the narrow loss, the Ephs remain alive in the double-elimination bracket and will look to bounce back in Saturday's elimination matchup.
Sadie Leonard pitched a gem, striking out 12 and surrendering just two hits across six innings. Katie Blanch entered in the seventh , but Moravian pushed across the game's only run on a RBI single. The Ephs' defense was sharp throughout, and the pitching staff once again had a strong showing.
Coach's Thoughts:
Head Coach Kris Herman said, "It was a great softball game. Sadie and Katie both pitched great again and our defense was stellar. They simply got one more break than we did. We look forward to tomorrow."
