Williams defeats Colby 2-0 to stay unbeaten

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Williams men's soccer team continued its unbeaten start to the 2025 season with a 2-0 shutout win over Colby College on Saturday afternoon at Cole Field. With the victory, the Ephs improve to 5-0-2 overall and 4-0-1 in NESCAC play.

Williams set the tone early with a well-executed opening goal. Henry Kirkman delivered a sharp cross from the right side, finding Mohamed Keussom in stride near the top of the box. Keussom controlled the pass smoothly and drove a shot toward the bottom left corner, beating the keeper to give the Ephs a quick advantage just 2:44 into the game. The goal marked Keussom's first of the season.

The Ephs extended their lead later in the half when Evan Vasquez intercepted a pass in the middle of the field. Taking advantage of the open space, he drove forward, weaving through Colby defenders before entering the box and slotting a low shot into the bottom right corner, giving Williams a 2-0 advantage in the 40th minute.

In the second half, both teams had their chances, with Colby pushing hard to get back in the game. The Mules had a slight edge in total shots, 17–15, with both teams recording five shots on goal.

Williams' goalkeeper Aleix Anglada wrapped up the day with five saves, picking up his third shutout of the season.

The Ephs will stay at home to close out their weekend, taking on No. 17 Bowdoin College tomorrow at 1 p.m.
