WILLIAMSTOWN, MA. — The Williams College men's basketball team fell 83–68 to Connecticut College on Saturday afternoon in NESCAC action at Luce Field House.
With the loss, the Ephs dropped to 10–6 overall and 0–4 in conference play, while the Camels improved to 13–4 and 2–2 in league competition.
Connecticut College jumped out to an early lead and maintained control throughout the game, outscoring Williams 47–34 in the first half and holding a steady advantage in the second half to secure the conference victory.
Jackson Rein led the Ephs with 21 points, going 7-for-13 from the field with a three and adding seven rebounds and two assists.
Aidan Yates added 11 points with four rebounds, and
Matt DeVine scored 8 points, shooting a perfect 2-for-2 from three-point range.
Dylan Shepherd and
EJ Sommers both chipped in seven points off the bench for the Ephs, while
Solomon Marshall added five and
Hudson Hansen with four points and three rebounds.
Williams shot 43.6% from the field and knocked down 8 of 28 from three-point range, going 12-for-14 at the free-throw line in the effort.
Connecticut College was paced by Elias Espinosa, who scored 26 points on efficient shooting and went 6-for-8 from three-point range. James LaFrance added 13 points, and Greg Cantwell chipped in 9 to help lead the Camels' offensive effort.
Williams will look to bounce back as they head to Amherst College on Wednesday for a Little Three Matchup.
