LYME CENTER, N.H. - The Williams College Alpine ski team competed at the Dartmouth Carnival this weekend, earning key team points as the squad earned another 7th place finish.
Cooper Iacobelli had a strong day in the GS, posting a 12th place finish and earning 29 team points in the event, where William Zurbay also helped, getting 17 points in a 26th place finish. Iacobelli was also the top finisher for the Ephs in the slalom, earning 18 points at 25th place, ahead of Jack Hunter who captured 16 points in 27th place.
Eliza Sullivan again led the way on the women's side for the Ephs, earning 22 points in the slalom where she finished in 22nd place, just ahead of teammate Ashley Anderson in 23rd (21 points). Charlie Koenig was the third point-earner in the event, capturing 11 points in 40th place.
Anderson also scored in the GS, earning 14 points in 34th place, with Koenig getting 12 points in 37th, and Chloe Lathrop earning 10 points in 39th place.
Williams finished in 7th place in the 14 team event, which was won by UVM, ahead of Dartmouth and Middlebury.Â
Williams will travel north again next weekend for the UVM Carnival, with the Alpine races taking place in Stowe, Vt., and the Ephs will then come home on February 13-14 for the Williams Carnival, with Alpine events being held at Jiminy Peak in Hancock, Mass.
