SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. — After producing rounds of 11- and 12-over par on Saturday, the Williams men's golf team carded a 4-over 292 in the final round of the Skidmore Fall Invitational, finishing in 10th place in the 21-team field with an 891 (+27). Sophomore Nick Smith posted his second round under par to end in a tie for ninth overall, while senior Alex Moller shot even par today as the duo led the Ephs to their best round of the fall.

"We got it going today and posted a solid round," said Williams Head Coach Josh Hillman. "Things have started to fall into place, and we get better and better every day. We are really looking forward to the Sap Bucket on Tuesday."

Starting on the seventh hole of the 7,145-yard, par-72 Saratoga Spa State Park Golf Course, Smith played his first nine holes at even par with a birdie on the 360-yard, par-4 10th hole. He then began his second nine with three consecutive birdies and ended it with four straight pars to match his first-round 71 (-1), moving up four places on the leaderboard.

Moller had a consistent day, draining two birdies on par-5 holes and 14 pars to produce his even-par 72.

Senior Peter Aznar-Klein had the best round of his Williams career today with a 2-over 74 after opening on the 10th hole. His score on the back-nine was 2-over with seven pars, then he sank two birdies and six pars on the front nine to stay at 2-over on the day.

Also contributing to the team score was sophomore Owen Barber with a 75 (+3) as he collected 12 pars and a birdie on the day.

New York University took home the team title at 11-under par — shooting below par in all three rounds — 21 strokes ahead of Middlebury. But the individual leaders were Aman Dhiman of Hobart and Andre Zhang of Amherst at 5-under par for the three rounds. Dhiman shot the low round of the day with a 5-under 67 to vault over a number of the 112 entrants.

The Ephs will play once more this fall at the Ekwanok Sap Bucket Challenge on Tuesday held at the Ekwanok Country Club in Manchester, Vermont.
