WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Junior forward
Lorcan Mitchell of the Williams College men's soccer team netted his fourth game-winning goal of the season and sophomore forward
JJ Ruehlemann recorded two assists Sunday afternoon, as the Ephs overcame a one-goal deficit with three second-half goals during a 3-1 victory over Keene State on senior day at Cole Field.
Prior to the game, the Ephs (8-1-1, 5-1-1 NESCAC) honored their outstanding eight-person senior class, featuring
Beck Walthers,

Kellan Grace. During their time on campus, Williams reached the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Division III Tournament in 2024 and 2025.
"It was an amazing way to finish off the weekend and senior day with a 3-1 come-from-behind win against a very good Keene State team," said sixth-year head coach
Steffen Siebert. "One thing this team has shown all season is that when adversity comes we find a way to respond. I could not be prouder and am excited for next week when we are back on Cole Field for another doubleheader weekend."
The Owls (1-7-3, 0-2-2 Little East Conference) opened the scoring in the ninth minute, as Federico Spagnuolo buried a shot into the top left corner of the net from the top of the 18-yard box. The scoring sequence was started with a corner kick from the right attacking side by Adrian Bueno.
During the 60th minute, sophomore defender
Jake Farmer sent a long throw-in from the left attacking side into the box. Ruehlemann and sophomore midfielder
Kai Desmangles had their initial shots blocked, but Desmangles was able to bury his second chance, evening the game at 1-1.
Mitchell found the back of the net in the 67th minute, as his eighth career game-winning tally from just beyond the box ricocheted off the left post and the back of the goalkeeper before crossing the line. With 1:29 left on the scoreboard, Farmer scored his second goal of the season off a left-side corner kick by first-year midfielder
Nick Appleton.
The hosts led in total shots, 37-9, and held a 15-3 advantage in shots on goal. Williams led the corner-kick statistic, 13-2. Junior goalkeeper
Kai Darrell improved to 8-1-1 on the season, making a pair of saves. Goalie Mateu Farre-Torres finished with 12 saves for Keene State.
The Ephs compete against 19th-ranked Wheaton Saturday at 1 p.m. on Cole Field.
