JJ Ruehlemann Garners NESCAC Player of the Week Laurels

Ruehlemann buried two game-winners this past week for the Ephs

HADLEY, Mass. — After scoring two game-winning goals and recording two assists during a 3-0-0 week for the Williams College men's soccer team, sophomore forward JJ Ruehlemann was named NESCAC Player of the Week by the conference office Monday afternoon.

This is the second time that Ruehlemann has been recognized with this honor, as he earned the conference's Player of the Week award during his rookie season on Sept. 8, 2025. The Waldwick, New Jersey, native additionally collected NESCAC Rookie of the Year recognition in 2025, as he helped the Ephs reach the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Division III Tournament for the third time in four years.

Ruehlemann buried the game-winning tally 11 seconds into the second half during a 2-1 victory over 14th-ranked Connecticut College on Saturday at Cole Field, as he executed a perfect give-and-go with junior forward Alex Bethencourt, heading the ball into the back of the net. During the 17th minute, he played an outstanding through ball that eventually led to Bethencourt's goal to put the hosts in front, 1-0. The win against the Camels was the first for the Ephs (8-1-1, 5-1-1 NESCAC) since a 1-0 decision on Sept. 28, 2013, at Cole Field.

Ruehlemann tallied the game-winner two minutes into a 5-0 triumph against visiting University of Hartford Tuesday, as he scored on a 1-on-1 situation with the goalkeeper. During a 3-1 comeback win against Keene State Sunday afternoon on senior day in Williamstown, Massachusetts, he assisted on the first and third Eph goals.

During his outstanding two-year collegiate career, Ruehlemann has compiled 11 goals, four assists, 26 points and five game-winning tallies.

The Ephs compete against 19th-ranked Wheaton Saturday at 1 p.m. on Cole Field.
