AMHERST, Mass. - After winning four of its last five NESCAC games, the Williams College men's ice hockey team suffered a 6-0 setback at Amherst Saturday afternoon during the regular season finale for both teams.
The Ephs (9-13-2, 8-10-0 NESCAC) will be the sixth seed in the NESCAC Tournament and will travel to third-seeded Tufts for a quarterfinal-round matchup on Saturday, Feb. 28, with a 4 p.m. puck drop at Malden Valley Forum. The Ephs went 2-0 against the Jumbos (12-11-1, 9-9-0 NESCAC)Â in the regular season, with both games being decided in overtime.
On Saturday, Josh Burke scored the game-winning goal for the Mammoths (12-10-2, 7-10-1 NESCAC) at the 12:53 mark of the first period, as the hosts added on two goals in the second and three in the third. Leading the way for Amherst were Burke (2 goals, 1 assist), Ryan Corcoran (1 goal, 1 assist) and John Small (1 goal, 1 assist).

Grant Fuchsen recorded a game-leading five shots on goal for the Ephs, while junior forward
Brady Welsch contributed with four. Junior forward
Logan Valkama went 6-3 on faceoffs.
