RIPTON, Vt. - The Williams College ski team placed 9th at the Middlebury Carnival, finishing the season, with the Nordic events at the Rikert Outdoor Center featuring a 7.5k classic on Friday, and a 20k classic on Saturday, both with individual starts.
In Friday's 7.5k race, Tzevi Schwartz was first across the line for the Ephs on the men's side, finishing 24th overall, followed by Quinn McDermott and Miles Miner as the point-scorers for the team. Just outside of the team's top three were Will Mowry, Cole Bothner, and Janne Koch. In the women's 7.5k, Ann Rightmire was the top finisher for the Ephs in 40th, and Luci Ludwig and Chloe Koch were the other point scorers, followed by Francesca Kitch, Olya Wright, and Bailey Carmack.
On Saturday, Ann Rightmire was again the top finisher for the women, this time in 32nd, and Ludwig and Carmack were the other point earners for Williams. For the men, McDermott led the way in 24th place, with Janne Koch and Schwartz also earning points.
The Middlebury Carnival wrapped up the regular season for the Ephs, who will await word on whether any skiers will qualify for the NCAA Championships, which will be held at Soldier Hollow Nordic Center in Midway, Utah, from March 11-14.
