CLAREMONT, Calif. - The No. 21-ranked Williams College men's tennis team faced a tall task Thursday evening, taking on No. 1 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, as the Stags secured a 5-2 victory at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center.
This marks the first loss of the Ephs' season, as they currently sit at 5-1 overall and 3-0 in the NESCAC, while Claremont-Mudd-Scripps improved to 17-1. The Stags won all three doubles matches to earn the one point, and then emerged victorious in 4-of-6 singles matches.
First-years
William Luke (6-3, 1-6, 7-5) and
Anthony Lim (7-5, 6-1) won at the third and fourth singles positions, respectively. Luke is a perfect 6-0 at the third singles slot this semester, while Lim has compiled a 4-1 mark at No. 4 singles.
The Ephs compete against No. 17 Pomona-Pitzer Friday at 5 p.m. Pacific Time from the Pauley Tennis Complex in Claremont, California.
