TROY, N.Y. – The Williams College baseball team fell to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, 13-3, on Tuesday afternoon on the road.
With the loss, the Ephs drop to 6-7 on the season.
RPI struck first in the opening inning with an RBI double to take a 1-0 lead, then broke the game open with a six-run fourth inning, to extend the lead to 7-0.
RPI added to its advantage in the sixth inning with a two-run home run, pushing the margin to 9-0.
Williams broke through in the eighth inning, as Dave Mosrie drove in Will Scott on a groundout to get the Ephs on the board.
The Engineers responded in the bottom half, taking advantage of a Williams error and adding four more runs to extend the lead to 13-1.
The Ephs added a pair of runs in the ninth inning, highlighted by a two-run home run from Ryan Nakajima to cap the scoring at 13-3.
Williams looks to bounce back on Wednesday, April 1st as they take on Bard College at 4:00 p.m.
