HARTFORD, Conn. - The No. 15-ranked Williams College women's tennis team did not lose a single set during a 7-0 triumph against Trinity Sunday at the Paul Assaiante Tennis Center.
Senior captains
Mia Thomann and
Jane Ladaga went 2-0 on the day for the Ephs (9-5, 3-3 NESCAC), while junior
Julia Zhang and first-years
Ayanna Varma and
Katelyn Wu also emerged victorious during singles and doubles action in the triumph over the Bantams (3-10, 0-8 NESCAC).
The Ephs won all three doubles matches to secure the one point. Junior
Ahn Lin and Zhang won at the top position, 5-2, and then Thomann and Varma posted a decisive 6-1 win at the second slot. During No. 3 doubles, Wu and Ladaga did not lose any games in a 6-0 victory.
Thomann (6-0, 6-1), Varma (6-0, 6-1), Zhang (6-4, 6-2), Wu (6-3, 6-4), junior
Margaux Molyneux (7-5, 6-1) and Ladaga (6-0, 6-1) won at No. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 singles, respectively.
Williams competes against No. 45 Hamilton Saturday at 10 a.m. in Williamstown, Massachusetts.
