Sadie Leonard named to the 2026 NFCA Division III Pitcher of the Year Watchlist

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Senior captain and starting pitcher Sadie Leonard of the Williams College softball team has been named to the 2026 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III Pitcher of the Year Watchlist.

Leonard is a three-time NESCAC Pitcher of the Year and a three-time NFCA All-American, earning First Team honors in 2024 and 2025 and Second Team recognition in 2023. The Tiburon, California, native is also a three-time NFCA All-Region I First Team honoree and has earned a spot on the All-Conference First Team on three occasions. During the 2023 season, they were named the NESCAC's Co-Rookie of the Year.

During the 2023 season, the rookie led all Division III softball student-athletes in strikeouts per seven innings (11.8). One year later, Leonard once again ranked first in the nation in strikeouts per seven innings (12.4) and fewest hits per seven innings (2.85). Leonard is a 12-time recipient of the NESCAC's Pitcher of the Week award.

Leonard leads the NESCAC this spring in ERA (0.94), wins (11), complete games (11), shutouts (4), innings pitched (82 1/3), strikeouts (150) and opponents' batting average (.156). The Ephs (15-9, 7-1 NESCAC) are tied for first in the conference standings and won 11 consecutive games from March 30 - April 12.

Williams competes in a single game at Smith on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. in Northampton, Massachusetts.
