— The Williams College baseball team used a big middle-inning rally to pull away from Sage, earning a 6–3 non-conference victory on Tuesday afternoon and breaking the Gators 16-game win streak.
With the win, the Ephs improve to 8-14 on the season.
Sage struck first in the opening inning, using a sacrifice fly to take a 1–0 lead.
Williams answered in the fourth, as they strung together a series of clutch hits to take control.
Dave Mosrie evened the score with an RBI single through the right side, and
JH Vaughan followed with a two-run double to center to give the Ephs their first lead of the day.
Hank Jacobus kept the rally going with an RBI double of his own, extending the advantage to 4–1, pushing Vaughan across the plate.
Sage cut into the deficit in the fifth with an RBI double, but the Ephs responded once again in the bottom half of the inning.
Ryan Nakajima delivered an RBI triple to center, and Mosrie followed with a bunt single that turned into an RBI after a throwing error, pushing the lead to 6–2.
The visitors added one more run in the seventh, taking advantage of a Williams error, but the Ephs held firm the rest of the way to secure the 6–3 win.
Mosrie led the offensive effort with two hits and two RBIs, while Vaughan drove in a pair off one hit. Williams saw balanced production throughout the lineup, as four Ephs tallied two hits apiece.
