WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - Senior captain
Jane Ladaga of the No. 17-ranked Williams College women's tennis team won in singles and doubles competition during a 5-2 setback to No. 19 Amherst Sunday at the Multipurpose Recreation Center.
The Mammoths (9-5, 6-2 NESCAC) won 2-of-3 doubles matches to secure the one point. Ladaga teamed up with first-year
Katelyn Wu in a 7-5 triumph at the third position for the Ephs (10-6, 4-4 NESCAC).
During singles action, first-year
Ayanna Varma (6-4, 7-5) and Ladaga (6-3, 6-2) emerged victorious at the second and sixth positions, respectively. Varma and Ladaga have gone 13-3 and 10-2 in singles, respectively, this semester.
The Ephs compete against No. 12 Bowdoin Saturday in Brunswick, Maine. The start time will be 11 a.m. if the match is outdoors and 1 p.m. if the event moves indoors.
