No. 5 Ephs See 12 Student-Athletes Earn CRCA Scholar-Athlete Honors

Seven seniors earned this prestigious academic and athletic award

WILMINGTON, Del. — The fifth-ranked Williams College women's crew team continues to excel academically and athletically, as 12 Ephs garnered Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) Division III Scholar-Athlete recognition on June 8.

The Ephs who received this prestigious accolade are seniors Ellie Davis (political science), Carolyn Fortin (economics), Claire McDonald (political science), Molly McWeeny (environmental studies), Ariana Oppenheimer (biology), Annie Refermat (psychology) and Maya Tait (biology), juniors Courtney FitzMaurice (psychology) and Vivian Johnson (computer science), and sophomores Ayanna Keshav (economics), Betsy Owens (biology) and Isolde Rayman-Moore (chemistry).

The CRCA Scholar-Athlete award honors outstanding collegiate rowers who exemplify excellence both in the classroom and on the water. These awards celebrate the commitment, discipline and academic achievement of student-athletes who rise to the challenge of excelling in a demanding sport, while maintaining exceptional academic performance.

The academic criteria of this honor are student-athletes meet all institutional and conference eligibility rules, they must be in their second, third, fourth or fifth year of eligibility and must hold a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher through the end of the fall semester/winter quarter of the current academic year. The athletic requirements are individuals must have rowed in at least 75% of spring races in an NCAA or IRA (lightweight) eligible boat and they raced in an NCAA boat at their conference championship.

The women's crew team earned a silver medal during the grand final of the second varsity eight at the 2026 NCAA Division III Championship from Lake Lanier Olympic Park in Gainesville, Georgia. The varsity four took home a gold medal during the grand final at the 2026 National Invitational Rowing Championship (NIRC)/NESCAC Championship on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Massachusetts.
