WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — After watching the second varsity eight earn a gold medal during the 2026 Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) Division III National Championship, the third-ranked Williams College men's crew team is excited to get back on the water and revealed its fall schedule.
The Ephs compete at the Head of the Housatonic on Saturday, Oct. 10, at Housatonic River in Shelton, Connecticut, and then will turn their focus to the Head of the Charles on Sunday, Oct. 18, at the Charles River in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
"While all of our training and preparation is geared toward the spring, the team certainly relishes the opportunity to race in the fall," said head coach
Marc Mandel. "Both the Head of the Housatonic and Head of the Charles are fun and large regattas that the team looks forward to each year."
Williams has achieved an abundance of success in the recent past, as the Ephs won the IRA National Championship in 2022 and 2023, National Invitational Rowing Championship (NIRC) in 2022 and 2023, NESCAC Championship in 2021, 2022 and 2023, and New England Championship in 2022 and 2023. The Ephs lead the NESCAC with 11 all-time conference championships, including six consecutive from 2009-14.
During the 2026 season, the first varsity eight earned a bronze medal during the IRA National Championship. The second and first varsity eight boats finished with silver and bronze medals, respectively, during the NIRC/NESCAC Championship on May 10. Rising seniors
Quinn Carroll and
Jack Wagner were named to the NESCAC All-Conference First Team in 2026.
