WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. —
Sam Serrano has been announced as an assistant coach of the Williams College men's lacrosse team and a wide receivers coach for the football program.
Serrano arrives on campus after serving as an assistant men's lacrosse coach at Springfield College during the 2025-26 academic year. During his time in Springfield, Massachusetts, he provided support with practice and game planning, film breakdown and scouting. Additionally, he worked as a coach for the Arsenal Lacrosse Club in Hudson Valley, New York, during the summer of 2025 and assisted with 3d Lacrosse New England in Boston during this past school year.
Serrano earned a bachelor's degree in business administration with a sports management major and an economics minor from Utica in 2024. He furthered his education and received a Master of Education in athletic leadership from Springfield in 2026.
Serrano was a lacrosse student-athlete at Utica from 2020-24, as he served as a captain and earned Empire 8 All-Conference Third Team laurels during his senior year. He finished his Pioneer career with 125 points, which is the sixth most in program history.
During his time in Utica, New York, he also was a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and the university's sports management club. He played one year of lacrosse as a graduate student at Springfield in 2025, earning NEWMAC Academic All-Conference recognition.
Serrano spent time as a self-employed freelance landscaper, worked in ticketing and sales for the Utica Comets and Utica City Football Club, and was a childcare provider for the Marbletown Summer Camp in New York.
The Williams men's lacrosse team earned an at-large bid into the NCAA Division III Tournament for the third time in the last four years during the 2026 season. The unit advanced to the Sweet 16 on the national stage, as the group defeated then-14th-ranked St. John Fisher, 6-5, in second-round action on May 9. The football program has compiled back-to-back winning seasons with 5-4 records in 2024 and 2025, respectively.
