LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The 20th-ranked Williams College men's lacrosse team earned the 2026 United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Academic Team award, while senior captains
Aidan Housenbold,
Ryan Johnson and
Will Doran were recognized as Division III Scholar All-Americans.
Williams was one of three NESCAC institutions to garner the Academic Team award, alongside Amherst and Wesleyan. In order to earn this honor, a team must have compiled a GPA of 3.0 or higher during the 2025-26 academic year.
Housenbold, Johnson and Doran joined 13 other conference student-athletes in taking home Scholar All-American laurels. During the 2026 season, Johnson and Doran were named to the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) Third Team, while Housenbold earned a spot on the Honorable Mention Team. All three outstanding student-athletes were named to the NESCAC All-Conference Second Team.
Doran led the Ephs in goals (44), assists (22) and points (66). He ranked seventh in the NESCAC in points per game (3.67), eighth in total points, tied for ninth in total goals and tied for ninth in goals per game (2.44). The Princeton, New Jersey, native tallied at least one point in all 18 games and finished with five or more points eight times.
Johnson appeared in and started 15-of-18 games, compiling 24 goals, nine assists and 33 points. The Somerset, New Jersey, native recorded four or more points on three occasions, including when he tallied three goals and one assist during a thrilling 14-10 victory at then-No. 5-ranked Salisbury on March 24. During an 8-7 triumph at No. 15 Middlebury on April 22, he buried the game-winning goal with five seconds left, as the victory propelled the Ephs into the NESCAC Tournament.
Housenbold was a staple on the defensive end for Williams, as he led the team with 33 caused turnovers, while ranking in a tie for second in the conference in total caused turnovers and fourth in caused turnovers per game (1.83). The Atherton, California, native collected the second-most ground balls on the team with 66. During home victories over Union on March 4 and Connecticut College on March 21, he combined for 12 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers.
In 1989, the USILA Scholar All-America program was established to recognize student-athletes from USILA member institutions who have distinguished themselves academically and athletically and as citizens of their communities. To qualify for the Scholar All-America award, the student-athlete must be nominated by his coach, be a senior in academic standing with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 (4.0 scale) and have behaved in a manner that has brought credit to himself, his institution and to college lacrosse both on and off the field. Nominees must also be an All-American, a member of a North/South Team, or an outstanding league or conference player. Each individual was additionally evaluated on a case-by-case basis by the Scholar All-America committee.
The Ephs earned an at-large bid into the NCAA Division III Tournament for the third time in the last four years during the 2026 season. The unit advanced to the Sweet 16 on the national stage, as the group defeated then-14th-ranked St. John Fisher, 6-5, in second-round action on May 9.
