WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — After earning an at-large bid into the 2026 NCAA Division III Tournament and winning a first-round match, 4-0, on the national stage against SUNY New Paltz, the 22nd-ranked Williams College women's tennis team is ecstatic to compete in three fall tournaments during the 2026-27 academic year.
The Ephs begin with the Colgate Invitational on Sept. 26-27 in Hamilton, New York. Williams will then turn its focus to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) New England Regional on Oct. 2-4 at Bowdoin in Brunswick, Maine. The fall season concludes with the New England Women's Intercollegiate Tennis Tournament (NEWITT) on Oct. 9-11 at Smith in Northampton, Massachusetts.
"I am excited for these women to form a new team and grow as competitors on the court," said head coach
Anik Cepeda. "The ITA and NEWITT events are challenging tournaments and test the student-athletes' endurance. If we show up prepared for the fall, then we will be able to train diligently the first few weeks and make a splash on the road."
The Ephs have achieved a remarkable level of success, winning 10 NCAA Championships in program history. Williams won six consecutive national titles from 2008-13, while also placing first in the nation during 2001, 2002, 2015 and 2017.
