Lorcan Mitchell and senior
Haley McAuslin of the Williams College men's soccer and field hockey teams were named Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Ephs of the Week Tuesday after scoring the game-winning goals in their respective events this past weekend.
Mitchell scored his fifth career game-winning tally for the 10th-ranked Ephs (1-0-0, 1-0-0 NESCAC) during a 3-2 season-opening victory over NESCAC-rival Bates Saturday afternoon at Cole Field. He blasted a left-footed shot from the edge of the 18-yard box into the top left corner of the net with 30:18 left in the second half.
McAuslin registered her second career game-winning goal for the No. 7 Ephs (1-0, 1-0 NESCAC) in a 2-0 season-opening triumph against defending NESCAC champion Bates Sunday at Williamson Field. She buried a turnaround shot into the bottom right corner with 8:55 on the scoreboard in the third quarter, giving Williams a 1-0 advantage.
