WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Sophomore forward JJ Ruehlemann of the No. 10-ranked Williams College men's soccer team recorded one goal and one assist, while a total of seven Ephs tallied at least one point during a 4-1 victory over Hamilton Tuesday afternoon on Cole Field.

The Ephs (2-0-0, 2-0-0 NESCAC) opened the scoring during the 10th minute, as Ruehlemann placed a through ball down the right side of the field. Senior midfielder Spencer Mix collected the ball and raced to the right edge of the 18-yard box after eluding a couple defenders, and then placed a shot into the bottom left corner of the goal.

During the 25th minute, junior forward Lorcan Mitchell buried his sixth career game-winning goal and second of the season, as he netted the rebound off junior forward Ali Coleman's initial shot. Coleman posted his first collegiate assist during the scoring sequence.

Williams extended its lead to 3-0 in the 55th minute. Sophomore defender Jake Farmer placed a throw-in from the left attacking side into the box. First, junior midfielder Ben Brown got a head on the ball, and then Ruehlemann provided the final touch, heading the ball into the right side of the goal.

Oliver Mylon found the back of the net for Hamilton (1-1-0, 0-1-0 NESCAC) during the 66th minute. With 1:05 left in regulation, the Ephs recorded the final tally, featuring the first collegiate goal and assist, respectively, for sophomore Kai Desmangles and first-year Andrew Martins.

Williams held a 9-4 advantage in shots on goal. Junior goalkeeper Kai Darrell made three saves in the complete-game victory.

The Ephs will compete against Trinity Saturday at 3 p.m. in Hartford, Connecticut.
