WILLIAMSTOWN, MA— The Williams College men's tennis team (2-0) completed the second game of it's 2015-16 fall season with a 9-0 win over RPI (0-1).
The first doubles pair to finish was Jose Raventos '16 and Brian Astrachan '16 playing against McKinley Grines and Sherman Uyeno (RPI). The match finished 8-2, with the Ephs winning.
The second doubles finish was Sachin Raghavan '18 and Brian Grodecki '18 versus Alain Grullen and Tristan Wise (RPI), Raghavan and Grodecki posting an 8-4 win.
Deepak Indrakanti '19 and Jordan Sadowsky '18 finished third, defeating Anthony Kim and Graham Harris (RPI) 8-2 for a sweep of the doubles competition for the Ephs.
Eph head coach Dan Greenberg remarked, "We played a really clean match. RPI plays aggressive doubles, but our guys were alert and ready from the start, which was important."
The Ephs continued the sweep through the singles competition, with Williams players Raventos, Grodecki, Raghacan, Sadowsky, Indrakanti, and Auxin (Christopher) Yu '19 winning their matches against RPI's Grines, Wise, Uyeno, Grullon, Stephen Baxter, and Kim, respectively.
"In singles, I felt like everybody played solid," says Greenberg. "Especially two of our rookies in their dual match debut at 5 and 6."
The Ephs will next be playing at the Dartmouth Invitational, beginning Friday, October 9th, taking place at Dartmouth.
