Complete Results

Roxbury, MA –  Behind the strength of four of their finest, the Williams men's track and field team kicked off the weekend by capturing 18th overall at the All New Englands Championship. The Ephs rode a strong day in the 3000m and the shot put to an 11 point finish. Northeastern University won the meet by scoring 177 points.

Magnus Herweyer '20 continued his standout first season in the shot put, besting his previous mark of 15.64m (51' 3.75'') by over a foot on his final throw of the day to vault him into 4th place. He popped off to throw 15.98m (52' 5.25''), a performance he dedicated to captain Chris Lyons '17. His new personal best currently puts him at 24th overall in Division III.

Zeke Cohen '19 and Noah Williams '17 got things going for the Ephs in the 3000m. Cohen went out in the lead and came through the first 800m in a controlled 2:20. Williams stayed a bit farther back to start, and worked his way up the field as Cohen battled through the middle laps to stay at the front. Both men closed well, with Cohen kicking hard to finish 2nd in the heat (11th overall) in 8:43.17 and Williams finishing 4th in the heat (13th overall) in 8:48.26. Austin Anderson '19 represented the Ephs in the second heat and went after the leaders from the start. He was at the front of chase pack throughout the race and ran a blistering 8:30.30 for 3rd overall. His converted time (banked to flat track) sits him at 44th in Division III.

The Ephs are not done with the weekend quite yet, as a few more athletes will be competing at the Boston University Last Chance Meet tomorrow.
